BMS STEM teacher, Mrs. Ida Smith, does it AGAIN! Mrs. Smith was awarded the November, 2024 Calumet Cares STEM Education Grant for Benton Middle School. This past week she was presented the award which will directly impact student learning by providing Strawbees technology & hardware which will be paired with Micro:Bit devices, teaching students how algorithms play a part in coding and computer programming. STEM funding is essential in order to ignite interest, refine understanding, and continue the momentum of computer science foundations in career technical education.

BMS STEM teacher, Mrs. Ida Smith was recently awarded the 2024-2025 STEM Grant sponsored by Louisiana Transportation Research Center &Bentley Systems. Students will be working diligently in the months to come with this funding to develop their circuitry & soldering skills as part of our underwater robotics technology, SeaPerch.
